Recent condition assessments have identified significant end of life roofing replacement works at West Park School. Recent condition assessments have identified significant end of life roofing replacement works at West Park School. In some areas proposed solutions including re-pitching roofs to develop better long term durable outcomes. The work is across four blocks at the school and will include spouting and downpipes.

On Block A the metal roofing and spouting over the hall and classrooms is to be replaced. The flat membrane roofs are to be reconstructed utilising a warm roof solution which will significantly improve the rainwater collection and disposal in these areas.

On Block B areas of translucent roofing is to be replaced with metal, new ceilings will be formed below including for insulation.

On Block C metal roofing and spouting is to be replaced.

On Block D the metal roof fixings are to be replaced, and translucent roofing replaced with a trafficable type. The works will include all scaffold and access systems along with plastic wrap over the area of Block A roof reconstruction.

The works will be carried out in a phased approach utilising school holidays for the simple replacement stages to minimise the need for decanting from affected spaces.

Asbestos removals will be undertaken during school holiday periods.
