Wellington City Council (WCC) invites proposals from experienced Service Providers to deliver Towing Services that help keep Wellington's streets safe, accessible and well-managed.

This contract plays an important role in supporting the day-to-day operation of our city through the provision of responsive towing, vehicle recovery and secure storage services.

As Wellington continues to evolve, changes to the transport network, parking management approach and urban environment are influencing how parking is managed and how towing services are delivered. Council requires a reliable and responsive Service Provider that can support current operational needs and adapt to future requirements over the life of the contract.

The Services include, but are not limited to, the towing or relocation of:
a. Unlawfully parked vehicles;
b. Vehicles parked on clearways in breach of clearway conditions;
c. Vehicles parked in a way that creates a hazard or obstruction;
d. Vehicles left on roads that have been, or will be, closed or partially closed for events or roadworks;
e. Abandoned vehicles.

The successful Service Provider will also be required to provide a secure facility for the storage of all towed vehicles.

The scope includes a wide range of vehicles, including cars and SUVs, electric and hydrogen-powered vehicles, motorcycles and mopeds, caravans, campervans and trailers, trucks, buses and other heavy vehicles, as well as damaged, burnt-out and non-roadworthy vehicles.

This is an opportunity to partner with Wellington City Council under an initial three-year contract, with the potential for two one-year extensions, subject to performance. We are seeking Service Providers with the capability, capacity, experience and infrastructure to deliver services that support Council's efforts to maintain safe, accessible and compliant parking across Wellington City.

Please refer to the RFP documentation for further information.
