Auckland Council would like Waiheke-based provider(s) to present their ideas on how an inorganic/resource recovery trial could be implemented on Waiheke and how they could be involved. The aim of this request is to identify all interested parties and to gain an understanding of their vision, capacity and areas of interest for participation. The inorganic / resource recovery trial aims to: - Divert as much material from landfill as possible for on-island use and benefit - Reduce the amount of illegal dumping - Create opportunities for new and existing community and business organisations on Waiheke - Encourage the participation and buy-in of Waiheke residents - Provide an efficient and cost effective ratepayer funded service for every eligible Waiheke property
