The Dunedin City Council (DCC) seeks to establish a term contract for civil, drainage and excavation works, with a particular focus on the needs of DCC 3 Waters Plant and Network Operations and Parks and Recreation Services. The Dunedin City Council (DCC) seeks to establish a term contract for civil, drainage and excavation works, with a particular focus on the needs of DCC 3 Waters Plant and Network Operations and Parks and Recreation Services. There are some immediate drainage and road alignment works required at three DCC cemeteries as part of a five year Cemetery Development Plan.
This contract includes:
• Planned and reactive maintenance works at DCC 3 Waters network, wastewater, and water treatment sites.
• Planned capital works delivering the physical works for the Cemetery Development Plan.
• Reactive work, as and where required, in particular in response to emergency and weather-related events.
• Minor capital works – e.g., extension and/or renewal of asphalt or hardstand areas

The DCC reserves the right to award a contract to two different Contractors for the four year and seven-month term, with one Contractor allocated the Cemetery Development Plan work for 2025/26. The subsequent Cemetery Development Plan works will be allocated as Separable Portions.

This is an exciting opportunity for locally based Civil contractors to work with the DCC. We seek to partner with Civil contractors that specialise in excavation and drainage works, who can demonstrate an agile work approach and can easily allocate resource, as and when required, especially in response to an emergency weather event. Your approach to how you work is important, we want to engage Contractors that have a track record of delivery and can demonstrate they are committed to developing an open and collaborative relationship with the DCC.
