12292 - SH25 Boundary Creek Superstructure Replacement

This is a Physical Works contract for the replacement of the superstructure of the SH25 Boundary Creek Bridge (BSN 527). The bulk of the physical work is to be undertaken during a consecutive five day road closure scheduled for 10pm Wed 29 October to 5am Tues 4 November 2025.

The Contract Works comprise of:

• Removal of the existing bridge superstructure, noting the presence of asbes... This is a Physical Works contract for the replacement of the superstructure of the SH25 Boundary Creek Bridge (BSN 527). The bulk of the physical work is to be undertaken during a consecutive five day road closure scheduled for 10pm Wed 29 October to 5am Tues 4 November 2025.

The Contract Works comprise of:

• Removal of the existing bridge superstructure, noting the presence of asbestos formwork;
• Replacement of the existing bridge superstructure with a new, single span superstructure comprising of four fabricated steel I girders with a composite reinforced concrete deck slab;
• The existing abutments are to be repair strengthened. The abutments are to be monitored for deflection and movement through visual observation and survey during the works;
• A TL4 proprietary thrie-beam barrier system is to be installed on both sides of the bridge, with transitioning to, and tying in with, the existing roadside barrier on the approaches;
• Bridge deck surfacing comprises of 25mm DG7 levelling and 50mm SMA surfacing, and tied into the existing beyond the bridge deck;
• The existing bridge also supports a 50mm diameter chorus fibre duct which will need to be temporarily supported during the works and reinstated on the new bridge deck.

Only tenderers pre-qualified to level Bridge Construction – Level B (3B) and Surfacing Level C (2C) under the terms of the NZTA Prequalification System are eligible to submit a tender.
