This is a Physical Works contract for the refurbishment of SH25 Moana-Anu-Anu (Wentworth) River Bridge (BSN 2122). The physical work is to be undertaken during a six-week road closure scheduled between Wednesday 29th October to Tuesday 9th December 2025.

Due to the long lead time to procure materials, NZTA will supply the 195mm thick engineered plywood deck panels. The panels will be available for collection from the possession of site date, from NZ Wood Products, 149 Kerr's Rd Wiri, Manukau.

The Contract Works comprise of:
• Collection of plywood panels from the supplier's yard in Wiri and transport to contractor's facility for off-site sealcoating. Following sealcoating, allow for transportation of panels from the contractor's facility to the project site.
• Off-site sealcoating of the plywood deck panels and including delivery to site.
• Installation of temporary access required to undertake the works.
• Removal of the existing w-section barrier and safety rails, removal of the existing SMA surfacing, and removal of the existing timber deck.
• Installation of plywood panels. The refurbished deck construction compromises 195mm thick plywood panels clamped to the underside of the top flange of the existing beams with steel clamp plates bolted to the underside of the panels.
• Steelwork strengthening involving the installation of transverse diaphragms and tension bracing.
• The existing steelwork coating system will be prepared and fully re-coated with a new paint system.
• The current safety barrier system will be upgraded to incorporate a new TL4 semi rigid guardrail.
• Pavement and surfacing reinstatement/tie-in.
• Other miscellaneous structural maintenance may be included while temporary access is in place.

Only tenderers pre-qualified to level Bridge Construction – Level C (3C) under the terms of the NZTA Prequalification System are eligible to submit a tender.
